Wow thank you so much darling! You are too kind, honestly. And you are a beautiful person as well! Keep being you!

Dear Joan, as a proud Pole and a Chopin music lover (being Polish doesn't equal you must be a fan of Chopin of course, but I really do love him!), I would like to know if you like his music?

Hello Magdalena!

Well, I am not very familiar with his music. Do you have any suggestions, dear? I love being introduced to new things!

Joan, what fragrance do you recommend?

What a fabulous question, dear Anon!

My favorite flower is the gardenia, so I tend to prefer fragrances with a gardenia touch to them — Chanel has a fabulous Gardénia perfume that I really love.

That’s me personally, of course, so as far as picking a fragrance for yourself, I would advise a lot of testing to see what grabs you, and then wear it proudly!

Fondly,

Dear Joan, how did you feel about Faye Dunaway portraying you in Mommie Dearest?

Dearest Anon,
I have always believed that Faye Dunaway had the true makings of a star, perhaps more than any actress of her generation, I said so in many interviews. I am quite sad, therefore that she was coaxed into making such a distasteful film, one that not only did it’s level best to destroy my reputation, but came off looking desperate and unattractive, two things I believe a lady should never be in film.
So, dearest anon, all in all I pity miss Dunaway on the terrible choice that she made. She could have gone so far, but a terrible wig and a face covered in baby powder do very little to make you a super star. Always remember that!
Yours most sincerely,

Dear Joan, do you still love Christina after all she did to you ?

Dear Anon,

This is a very difficult subject for me because at the end of the day she is my daughter, even if she has no respect for me as a mother or human being at all. I still love her in a matronly way but it is hard to love someone the same way after they have treated you with such disrespect. Tina knew what meant most to me; my career. She knew if she targeted my reputation as a mother it would eventually bleed over into my career and lead to all sorts of questions. For heaven’s sake the girl almost single-handely took out my filmography! I guess the best way to answer your question is this: I love her as a mother, but this does not go very far. As a person, I can not stand her. I feel sorry for her. The fact that she had to stoop to such lows to even really be noticed.

Thank you for your question dear!

Dear Joan <3 I love you so much an Id like to learn more about your life, what's the best bio on you ?

Dearest Anonymous,
I am so flattered that you would like to learn more about me and I would always be happy to answer any specific questions that you have. However if you are looking for a good total picture of my life there are a few good biographies. The definitive classic is of course “My Way of LIfe” which is my autobiography, unfortunately this has gone out of print and might therefore be a bit tricky to get a hold of, although I would check your local library and ebay, as well as amazon where it is being sold by several third parties.
If however you are unable to purchase it, I would try “Not the Girl Next Door” by Charlotte Chandler which is extensively researched and immaculately put together. Also “Joan Crawford: The Enduring Star” by Peter Cowie although this is mostly photography in the form of a coffee table book.
I hope I have been able to help you!

who do you think is more handsome - Gary Cooper or Cary Grant?

Oh, thank you for this wonderful question, dear Anon!

Well Gary and Cary are two very different but very beautiful men, each in their own way. I really don’t think they can be compared and I couldn’t possibly pick one over the other, so let’s call it a draw, shall we?

Thank you so much again for writing, I hope to hear from you again soon!

Always,

Dear Joan, could you give a link to the gaga interview where she mentions you ?

Dearest Anon,

Of course you may! It took me a while to find it but I finally did. Here is the link! I hope you enjoy! It’s just a little blurb, but a mention none-the-less! Please feel free to drop back by after you watch it or anytime for that matter dear!

Dear Joan, if you had to choose, which of the contemporary singers, bands (or musicians in general) would be your favourite?

Dear Magdalena,

I am terribly sorry for my late response! Please forgive me! I will always answer all of my questions, some just take longer than others. Now then, for your question.

This is a tough question because I enjoy many different types of music. I like the music from the 70s and 80s and most of the groups during the time i.e., ABBA, Cher, and Boston. As far as modern day, well, I really enjoy Lady Gaga. And she mentioned me during one of her interviews! She really cares for her fans and is a truly talented artist! As always, thank you for your question darling!

with love,

a quickie: pizza or pasta?

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your question! Food is always a lovely subject.

Pizza and pasta are both loaded with carbohydrates and calories; so I try to stay away from them often. But when I do splurge, pasta is divine! I especially love fettuccine!

As ever,
